Philippines Airlines to begin flying from Zamboanga to Kota Kinabalu

Well this an exciting news, people. Philippines Airlines (PAL) will begin offering thrice-weekly flights between Zamboanga (Philippines) and Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia) starting 31st of March 2020.

 

Philippines Airlines will be using the 86-seater Bombardier Q400 aircraft for the route and the introduction of the route is seen as a good news for the business community, trading fraternity and leisure travellers.

Facts about Zamboanga

  • Zamboanga City is the 3rd largest city in the Philippines and 2nd most populous in Mindanao after Davao City with estimated population of 861,799.
  • The origin of the name Zamboanga came from the early Malay settlers. They called the region “Jambangan” which means “land of flowers.”
